What are they ?

Porcelain veneers are thin coverings placed on the front of the teeth to beautifully enhance your smile.

How does it work?

To ensure your best result, we have a few planning appointments. First, we will do a ‘trial smile’ so you can see what your result will be prior to placement. This allows us to make any adjustments prior to treatment. Placement of porcelain veneers is done over 2 appointments. The initial appointment involves preparation of the teeth and impressions. Two weeks later, we fit the veneers. In between these appointments, you have temporary veneers so you can keep smiling.

How long do they last?

Porcelain veneers last 10-15 years on average. The lifespan is dependent on factors like how they are cared for, diet, and biting. The latest techniques are used to maximize the lifespan.

Is it safe?

We use only the latest and safest techniques to ensure the preparation on the teeth is extremely minimal. As such, the health of the teeth is maintained.

Do my teeth have to be straight for porcelain?

Similar to composite bonding, your teeth need to be relatively straight for porcelain to be placed safely and effectively. You may need to straighten your teeth prior to treatment.

Do I want composite or porcelain?

There are pros and cons to both treatments, and we discuss at length what would be the best course depending on the result you want. The main advantage of porcelain is that they last longer and require less maintenance than composite.
