Invisalign treatment for patients from Middleton in Manchester

Mr Winston has offered Invisalign treatment for a number of years now. He has seen the system develop into the modern brace system that is available today. There have been many improvments to Invisalign tooth straightening braces over the years which include optimised attachments so that some of the more difficult tooth  movements are now possible with the system. The clear aligner system also uses a feature called power ridges in some cases which allow “torqueing” of the tooth roots which means that you can now do more than just tip the teeth with clear aligners you can carry out more complex bodily movements of the tooth rather than just tipping it.

However, the truth is that any invisible brace system or lingual brace systems is only as good as the person providing the treatment and Mr Winston has many years experience and a postgraduate degree in orthodontics. He trained at the University of Warwick for five years part time to obtain a Master of Science degree in orthodontics.

How many people in Stalybrige saw an orthodontist when they were younger?

Ten or more years ago a lot of people missed out seeing an orthodontist for dental braces. It is a real shame because a lot of people from Stalybridge come to Mossley Dental Care to see Mr Winston for tooth straightening treatments in their 20s, 30s and 40s and tell us that they wished they had had it done when they were younger.

Invisalign Explained to Patients From Stockport

What is it?

Invisalign is a modern alternative to conventional teeth straightening treatments, offering a quick solution to minor imperfections in the alignment of the teeth. The process involves a series of aligners that are specially crafted to the patient’s teeth, and are – as the name suggests – practically invisible, which makes them a popular choice for people who may feel self conscious or embarrassed about wearing braces. This treatment involves far less discomfort than its alternatives, using revolutionary technology that can help to drastically improve a patient’s crooked smile.

The Technology

Patients considering Invisalign can now benefit from a high-tech 3D simulation of how the treatment will affect their teeth. Using ClinCheck software, your dentist can now show you a computerised model of your teeth and show how much movement each individual aligner can offer. The Process

If the patient approves of the predicted end result, the process can get underway. It’s really rather simple:

1)      Using the 3D model of the teeth and the latest technology, the first Invisalign tray is crafted to suit the structure of the patient’s teeth.

2)      This first custom tray is worn by the patient for two weeks, allowing it to gradually alter the alignment of the teeth, millimetre by millimetre.

3)      When the patient’s teeth fit the mould, a new tray is crafted and again worn for two weeks. This process is repeated until the desired effect is achieved.

Different Orthodontic Treatments Available at Mossley Street Dental near Hyde to Enhance Your Smile

What is orthodontics? In a nutshell, it’s the study and treatment of improper bites. The word itself is partly derived from the Greek ‘orthos’, meaning straight, proper or perfect, and ‘odous’, meaning tooth. It should be no surprise then, following a little linguistic detective work, that orthodontics tends to be where brace treatment crops up, and at Mossley Dental we offer several forms of brace treatment.

Invisalign braces

Invisalign braces are completely clear and almost completely undetectable making them a great choice for anyone who may feel self-conscious having a brace. The treatment works in increments, with a new brace being provided roughly every three weeks. Invisalign is, unfortunately, not suitable for severe orthodontic issues, but is for the majority of crooked teeth problems.

Lingual braces

Lingual braces are like traditional fixed braces but instead of fixing the wires and brackets to the front of the teeth they are fitted to the back. Lingual braces are hard to notice, much like Invisalign, but, rather than working in increments, are fixed.

Damon braces

Unlike traditional braces, which require elastic ties to hold the arch wires in place that can cause discomfort, Damon braces use a sliding mechanism, which makes tooth movement more comfortable and makes the brace easier to clean. Damon braces are also designed to help produce a straight smile whilst trying to minimise the need for a tooth extraction. Extraction is sometimes necessary during orthodontic treatment so that other teeth can move into their proper positions.

Inman aligners

Treatment with Inman aligners can be very quick, sometimes taking as a little as two months to straighten teeth, but they are not suitable for all cases. Inman aligners are removable and rely on a coiled spring and a bar that gently push and pull the teeth into position.

The Completely Hidden Fixed Brace Treatment for Patients from Dukinfield

Adolescence is a stage that even those in it despise, and nothing conjures up ‘awkward-teens’ quite like the old train-track brace face. This unfortunate stigma can make having a brace, at any point in your life, a rather unattractive prospect, especially considering most people who require one for treatment end up wearing the thing for between twelve and twenty four months.

A solution?

The word ‘lingual’ is derived from the Latin for ‘close to the tongue’ and can be used as an adjective for things relating to the tongue or relating to language (i.e. bilingual or lingual diversity). Lingual braces live up to their name, not only by being closer to the tongue than conventional braces, but also for the amount of talking you’ll be doing in them; as no will know you’re wearing braces in the first place. Lingual braces are exactly like conventional braces, except they are fitted to the back of your teeth rather than the front. They will do exactly the same job; just no one has to see them.

But what about ‘invisalign’ braces?

Invisalign braces are another form of hidden brace, though Invisalign braces are clear and thus hidden in plain sight. What are the advantages of Lingual braces over Inivisalign? One is that Lingual braces are fixed. This might sound odd to posit as an advantage, but it avoids any problems which may develop as a result of the wearer’s carelessness with removable braces. Treatment with Invisalign works in increments with a new brace being provided roughly every three weeks, but the treatment also requires you wear your brace for between twenty and twenty two hours a day. Failure to do so can result in the next increment of the treatment not fitting, delaying the treatment and hiking up the cost. In terms of price Lingual braces can also be much cheaper: The most expensive form of Lingual treatment being two thirds of Invisialign’s cheapest.

Invisible Treatment with Invisalign Braces for Patients from Stalybridge

What is Invisalign and how does it work?

Regardless of your age, undergoing treatment to straighten your teeth can be an embarrassing situation. Conventional metal braces are unsightly, and for many they can increase the sense of insecurity about their mouth and teeth. Patients from Hyde Learn how Lingual Braces can Improve Their Smiles

Lingual braces work in much the same way as conventional braces do, but instead of being fitted to the front of the teeth they are fitted to the rear of them. This means that from a cosmetic perspective they are preferable to traditional fixed braces, as you do not end up with what is sometimes referred to as ‘train-tracks’. Just like conventional braces they apply a continuous level of pressure on the teeth in order to correct the misalignment and create a straighter appearance.

The time frame for this version of the brace is 12 to 24 months, which is similar to conventional braces and the final results are the same as their conventional counterparts. The only difference between the two is the invisibility of lingual braces, which makes them a popular option for people who wish to correct their smile, without it being obvious to others that treatment is being undertaken.

Lingual braces for patients from Hyde are relatively straight forward to fit and it usually only takes two trips to the dentist. During the first visit a mould will be taken of your mouth, so that the brackets can be personally customised to fit you perfectly. The second visit will involve the brace being fitted, when the brackets are cemented onto the teeth and the dentist then installs the wire, which creates the tension needed to straighten the teeth.

Because the braces are fitted to the rear of the teeth there are some other points that need to be considered, such as the additional time it will take for your mouth to adjust. This may cause a slight lisp and the tongue may occasionally be caught, but once the mouth has fully adjusted it should be no more intrusive than a standard brace.

Lingual braces are, for all intent and purposes, the same as conventional braces, but are simply fitted to the rear of the teeth rather than the front. The job they perform is no different and there is no increase or decrease in treatment time. They are simply more atheistically pleasing, as no-one else will know you have had them fitted.
