Rochdale patients choose between six month smiles and Invisalign

Patients are travelling to Mossley Dental Care to see Mr Winston because he has a postgraduate degree in orthodontics and is experienced in many different orthodontic appliance systems. Two of the most popular systems are Six Month Smiles or Invisalign.

Six Month Smiles is a fixed on brace which is made of clear materials so is not very noticeable and very discreet. Most of our adult patients dont want metal braces and so the clear ones are a great alternative.

On the other hand Invisalign of a transparent thin plastic “gum shield” which covers your teeth and can be taken in and out for eating and cleaning. It takes a little longer to work but is a bit less noticeable than six month braces.

Rochdale is only a short drive from Mossley and we encourage you to come in for a chat about these different types of braces. We offer great value for money and a high quality service.

Why not give us a try! You wont be disappointed. Mr Winston has a great reputation all around Oldham, Rochdale and Ashton Under Lyne.

Invisalign orthodontics in Ashton Under Lyne

There are a number of choices available at Mossley Dental Care for adult patients who want tooth straightening. Not all patients will consider fixed on braces even if they are clear. We therefore offer our patients from around Tameside and Ashton Under Lyne Invisalign braces.

This tooth straightening method uses clear plastic aligners which are removable and are taken in and out for eating and cleaning. They are practically invisible and are more discreet than fixed braces.

Mr Winston has been an Invisalign provider for a number of years and has treated a number of difficult cases with great results. They can work very quickly but probably take a bit longer than our six month brace system. However, for those people who perhaps because of their job dont want the fixed options, Invisalign works really well.

We offer flexible payment plans to all our orthodontic patients along with free home tooth whitening at the end of your treatment and we use the best retainers (both fixed and removable) to ensure your smile stays nice and straight.

Mr Winston is very knowlageable and approachable and is happy to answer any questions you have at your initial free visit so contact reception and we can arrange for you to come along for a

Invisalign treatment for patients from Middleton in Manchester

Mr Winston has offered Invisalign treatment for a number of years now. He has seen the system develop into the modern brace system that is available today. There have been many improvments to Invisalign tooth straightening braces over the years which include optimised attachments so that some of the more difficult tooth  movements are now possible with the system. The clear aligner system also uses a feature called power ridges in some cases which allow “torqueing” of the tooth roots which means that you can now do more than just tip the teeth with clear aligners you can carry out more complex bodily movements of the tooth rather than just tipping it.

However, the truth is that any invisible brace system or lingual brace systems is only as good as the person providing the treatment and Mr Winston has many years experience and a postgraduate degree in orthodontics. He trained at the University of Warwick for five years part time to obtain a Master of Science degree in orthodontics.

A patients came to the practtice from Middleton in Manchester last week for Invisalign braces because she had a friend who recently finished treatment with us and was over the moon with the service she recieved and was blown away by the final result.

Invisalign Explained to Patients From Stockport

What is it?

Invisalign is a modern alternative to conventional teeth straightening treatments, offering a quick solution to minor imperfections in the alignment of the teeth. The process involves a series of aligners that are specially crafted to the patient’s teeth, and are – as the name suggests – practically invisible, which makes them a popular choice for people who may feel self conscious or embarrassed about wearing braces. This treatment involves far less discomfort than its alternatives, using revolutionary technology that can help to drastically improve a patient’s crooked smile.

The Technology

Patients considering Invisalign can now benefit from a high-tech 3D simulation of how the treatment will affect their teeth. Using ClinCheck software, your dentist can now show you a computerised model of your teeth and show how much movement each individual aligner can offer. This is beneficial as the patient can see the predicted end result before deciding whether it is worth their time and money. Bet you never thought you could have a try-before-you-buy smile!

The Process

If the patient approves of the predicted end result, the process can get underway. It’s really rather simple:

1)      Using the 3D model of the teeth and the latest technology, the first Invisalign tray is crafted to suit the structure of the patient’s teeth.

2)      This first custom tray is worn by the patient for two weeks, allowing it to gradually alter the alignment of the teeth, millimetre by millimetre.

3)      When the patient’s teeth fit the mould, a new tray is crafted and again worn for two weeks. This process is repeated until the desired effect is achieved.

The number of aligners used varies from patient to patient, but will often be between 18 and 36, meaning the perfect smile can be achieved in just 9 to 18 months! Contact us at Mossley Dental Care near to Stockport for more information of Invisalign.

Modern Orthodontic Treatments For Patients from Glossop

‘Orthodontics’ refers to procedures carried out by dental professionals to alter the alignment and the ‘bite’ of a patient’s teeth. This quest for perfectly straightened teeth is by no means a new craze; it is reported that ancient mummified bodies have been uncovered with fibres from animal intestines wrapped around the jaws. Perhaps it’s better to stick to modern techniques. Talk to us here at Mossley Dental Care near to Glossop to see if any of these treatments are suitable for you:

Standard Braces

Metal braces – often referred to as ‘train track’ braces – are a common way of straightening teeth and altering a patient’s bite. However, as this process can take up to three years, it is becoming increasingly unpopular.

Incognito Lingual Braces

In a world where people are becoming more and more conscious of their appearance, many patients want the full effect of braces, but without them being visible to others. Lingual braces offer this as they are attached to the back of the patient’s teeth but apply the same pressure as standard braces. This orthodontic treatment also prevents damage to the surface of the teeth.

Six Month Smiles

This modern process involves a near-invisible set of custom trays that are attached with transparent dentist adhesive and teeth-coloured wires and brackets. These trays allow modifications to the teeth without anybody but the dentist and patient having to know.

Simpli5 Aligners and Invisalign

Simpli5 and Invisalign are two versions of the modern technology of clear, removable braces. Similar to Six Month Smiles, they are practically invisible to others, allowing anybody who is slightly embarrassed about wearing braces that much sought for discretion. These solutions to crooked teeth differ as they involve a series of trays that are designed specifically for the patient’s teeth, often every two weeks, to gradually mould them into the desired positions.

Different Orthodontic Treatments Available at Mossley Street Dental near Hyde to Enhance Your Smile

What is orthodontics? In a nutshell, it’s the study and treatment of improper bites. The word itself is partly derived from the Greek ‘orthos’, meaning straight, proper or perfect, and ‘odous’, meaning tooth. It should be no surprise then, following a little linguistic detective work, that orthodontics tends to be where brace treatment crops up, and at Mossley Dental we offer several forms of brace treatment.

Invisalign braces

Invisalign braces are completely clear and almost completely undetectable making them a great choice for anyone who may feel self-conscious having a brace. The treatment works in increments, with a new brace being provided roughly every three weeks. Invisalign is, unfortunately, not suitable for severe orthodontic issues, but is for the majority of crooked teeth problems.

Lingual braces

Lingual braces are like traditional fixed braces but instead of fixing the wires and brackets to the front of the teeth they are fitted to the back. Lingual braces are hard to notice, much like Invisalign, but, rather than working in increments, are fixed.

Damon braces

Unlike traditional braces, which require elastic ties to hold the arch wires in place that can cause discomfort, Damon braces use a sliding mechanism, which makes tooth movement more comfortable and makes the brace easier to clean. Damon braces are also designed to help produce a straight smile whilst trying to minimise the need for a tooth extraction. Extraction is sometimes necessary during orthodontic treatment so that other teeth can move into their proper positions.

Inman aligners

Treatment with Inman aligners can be very quick, sometimes taking as a little as two months to straighten teeth, but they are not suitable for all cases. Inman aligners are removable and rely on a coiled spring and a bar that gently push and pull the teeth into position.

Other options

These four are just the tip of the iceberg. To discuss all the orthodontic treatments we offer, please book a consultation at Mossley Street Dental near Hyde. We will be more than happy to guide you through all the procedures available.

Invisible Treatment with Invisalign Braces for Patients from Stalybridge

Thick wires and brackets do not make for a good look, but they do make for a beautiful smile- once they are taken off.

However, what if you knew of a way to straighten your smile without the worry of visible wires and brackets? If you are looking for such a combination then Invisalign aligners may be the perfect option for you.

What is Invisalign and how does it work?

The Invisalign system is comprised of a series of clear plastic aligners, which are custom-made to your orthodontic prescription.

To begin with moulds and images are taken of your mouth, which are then sent to the Invisalign laboratories. A set of aligners will then be made, with each aligner differing slightly from the previous one, which gradually encourages the teeth to move into a better position.

All of this is accomplished without the need for wires and brackets and the clear plastic of the aligners sits invisibly over your teeth.

What is the usual treatment time with Invisalign?

Invisalign usually takes between 9-24 months to complete treatment, but this will depend on your personal orthodontic prescription.

What other advantages are there to Invisalign?

Invisalign aligners are also removable, so you can eat and clean without your aligners getting in the way and collecting plaque and debris. This means a greater level of oral hygiene for patiens from Stalybridge, which can often decline when wearing fixed braces. The wires and brackets of fixed braces attract plaque and food, which then rests against the surface of the teeth, leading to acid erosion and possibly tooth decay.

Who is suitable for Invisalign treatment?

Patients who suffer with orthodontic conditions such as crooked teeth, twisted teeth, overbitten teeth and gaps between teeth can all find the treatment they need with Invisalign aligners.

Patients from Dukinfield can be Saved Their Blushes Thanks to Invisalign

Regardless of your age, undergoing treatment to straighten your teeth can be an embarrassing situation. Conventional metal braces are unsightly, and for many they can increase the sense of insecurity about their mouth and teeth. However, Invisalign aligners are different, as they are nearly invisible and can easily be removed for special occasions, making them a much more discreet option for straightening your teeth.

The main differences between Invisalign and conventional braces for patients from Dukinfield are as follows

  • First and foremost conventional braces are made of metal and are attached to the teeth and so cannot be removed until the treatment has concluded.
  • Invisalign are clear and removable. Unlike conventional braces there are no rough sides to causes soreness in the mouth and they can yield results in a shorter time frame than their traditional counterparts.
  • The cost of both is around the same, however, Invisalign can be cheaper dependant on the level of treatment required.

How do Invisalign aligners work?

Instead of having the aligners attached to the teeth and adjusted by an orthodontist, the Invisalign braces are created for each individual and are replaced about every two weeks for the next set and on average around 18 to 30 sets of aligners are used during the treatment. This means over time the teeth are moved and straighten little by little, until they have reached the final and desired position.  In addition to the increased comfort and cosmetic desirability of the Invisalign braces, a 3D plan of what your teeth will look like after the treatment is made before you start, to give you a clear image of what to expect.

Both forms of treatment have their pluses and minuses and whether or not Invisalign is for you may well depend on the level of work required. It is also worth noting that unlike conventional braces Invisalign can only be fitted by a trained dentist. This new approach to teeth straightening is perfect for anyone who doesn’t require extreme levels of treatment, as the Invisalign braces are more suited to treating mild orthodontic problems.

The Difference Between Normal and Invisible Braces at Dentists serving patients from Glossop

Don’t hide yourself – hide your braces!

When we think of braces, we often picture the unsightly metal devices attached to the front of your teeth. But if you’ve got crowded or crooked teeth and dream of a straighter smile, then you’ll be pleased to know that these traditional braces are a thing of the past.

At Mossley Dental Care which serves patients from Glossop, we offer a choice of discreet orthodontic treatments that will perfect your smile without affecting your confidence.

Invisalign

Invisalign are clear aligners that are placed over the teeth for an effect that is almost invisible. Invisalign come with a unique ClinCheck treatment plan, which uses 3D virtual imaging technology to allow you to see what the finished result will look like before embarking on your treatment. You will return to the practice every two weeks for a new set of custom-made aligners. Each clear aligner will gradually alter the position of the teeth until the finished result is achieved. What’s more, Invisalign braces can be removed for eating, cleaning or for social occasions, making them a convenient alternative to traditional fixed braces. Invisalign also has a special programme to cater for the special requirements of young teenagers: Invisalign Teen.

Lingual Braces

Lingual braces are another invisible orthodontic treatment. Thin wires are tailor-made and fixed to the back of the teeth with small brackets, so that they cannot be seen when you talk and smile. Their discreet positioning also makes them easier to keep clean and treatment time is considerably shorter than normal braces (treatment lasts on average about 6 months).

Invisible braces don’t just look nicer, they are also more comfortable to wear. Traditional metal braces can irritate the cheeks and lips and may even cause sores and ulcers. Invisible braces mean that more and more adults are now deciding to have orthodontic work done, which they never dreamed they’d have the confidence to do.

Please contact Mr Winston at the practice to find out more about these exciting dental technologies.

Frequently Asked Questions about Braces available from dentists serving Rochdale patients

Here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about braces:

Why are braces important?

Many people choose to straighten their teeth to improve their smile and boost their confidence. However, braces are also an important way of maintaining your oral health. Tooth alignment problems and other orthodontic issues can cause further conditions, such as gum disease, tooth loss, digestive difficulties and speech impediments, if left untreated.

Are braces just for children and teenagers?

No – in most cases, braces are suitable for all people in Rochdale. Due to contemporary advancements in dental healthcare, modern braces have become more comfortable, convenient, effective and discreet.

Are all braces the same?

Braces come in all shapes and sizes, including:

  • Permanent braces that are fixed to either the front or back of your teeth.
  • Removable braces that can be taken out for cleaning, eating, socialising or playing sport.
  • ‘Invisible’ braces that are clear or hidden behind the teeth.
  • Braces that can achieve beautiful, straight smiles in just six months.

Will they make my teeth hurt?

Most braces use low forces to move your teeth into the desired position and tooth extraction is rarely required. You may experience some initial discomfort, but this should subside as you adjust to wearing your new braces.

How long will I have to wear them for?

Treatment time depends on the individual case and will vary depending on the extent of work required. In some cases, patients only have to wear braces for a few months. In more complicated cases, treatment can last up to a couple of years.

Are they expensive?

Prices vary depending on the nature of the treatment that you opt for.
